The ISO 50001 standard generates an energy saving of up to 30% to companies

The application of the international standard ISO 50001 on energy management systems has managed to generate organizations a systematic saving of between 5% and 30% of the energy cost, according to a recent assessment carried out by the International Organization for Standardization on the occasion of the first five years of life of the standard.

In addition, this standard helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In just a few years since its publication in 2011, the standard has become the world reference for proper energy management, with 11,985 organizations certified in a hundred countries.

Nine out of ten organizations that use this standard recommend it and 95% of users say that it helps them identify activities that consume more energy, according to ISO. ISO 50001 has begun to be revised, within the usual process of periodic revision of the norms to adapt to the new needs of the organizations.
